I have a REPTI TUFF splashproof halogen lamp 75W, and I'm just wondering what the proper suspension height is for such a bulb. It is suspended above a fixed floating rock in a 45 gallon tank.

The exact distance is going to need to be figured out based on how hot your basking area is getting. If it's too hot it needs to be raised, too cold and it'll need brought in closer. Do you have a temp gun to check your surface temps in your basking area?

Welcome to the forum!

I agree with herpin. 75W is pretty strong, so I'd guess 10-12" away. It also helps if you have a wide basking area so your turt can move to a cooler end.
