So my girl has outgrown her tank by a lot .her shell is 10" long and 9" across its really hard for her to use any store bought ledge can anyone give me any tips to make her more comfortable?

How big is her current tank? You'd probably want to start looking on craigslist and other classifieds for a bigger tank.

I used to have her in a 40 gallon now she's in a super wide 80 gallon

I prefer cork bark, but if that doesn't fit then a pvc/tile basking area can be made to fit any sized tank. If the water level is low, you can use a resin platform (they are trapezoid shaped). There are also acrylic platforms that stick to the side of the tank with suction cups but a heavy turtle might be a bit much for it.

My dad made me a pretty simple dock for my turtle with PVC and some sort of resin-coated board- easily made with tile or other building materials (NOT wood). It will easily hold her for a long time. The hardest part of the process was measuring the PVC pipes to the correct length! No adhesive needed- He screwed the board directly into the PVC, and its holding up fairly well to her abuse. PVC and tile structures seem pretty popular, as do ones made from diffuser panels. they're not the prettiest of solutions, but very functional. If you raise your water level, make sure you have a lid- I learned the hard way that RES are determined climbers!! troublemakers....Good luck!
