Apartment living and pesticides

We recently moved and our RES, Squirtle, was not welcome at our new residence. I have an apartment in the city that I use six days of the week, and our turtle is my new roomie.
Each month, Terminix comes through and dusts every apartment. Unfortunately, it is in the contract, so asking them to skip mine is not an option. Squirtle just moved in, so she is not ready to explore, but she is adventurous and will want to gallivant around her new digs soon enough. I realize no pesticide is safe, and her safety and comfort are important to me. However, I am also aware that outside of remote parts of Siberia and the Sahara pesticide is everywhere.
My question is to those that live in similar conditions. How long do you wait before letting your RES roam your home? Have you encountered any health problems after the pest tech comes through? How have you adjusted your turtle's environment to better cope with this inconvenience?

What do the other pet keepers at the apartment building do?

I don't know of any other pet keepers in the building.

My problem with this is not so much your turtle as it is you! Do you even know what they are spreading around your place? I grow a large garden so I'm fully aware about pestisides. I wouldn't sleep there but that's just me.

Good point. It does seem pretty aggressive. I guess you really need to know what they're spraying and how much. I'd be worried since a lot of the chemicals might be collected into the tank water where it will stay there.

Good advice. I'll look into it. Thank you.
