So it's been a while since I kept a background poster on Brixie's tank, but I really want one now to compliment it (especially with the six or seven cables hanging in the back.)

Being a huge Kirby fan, I want to make my own that resembles an underwater Kirby level. I can probably get it made and cut out soon, so I'll keep everyone updated. But is there a specific type of paper I should get? I'll laminate it, of course, to keep it from getting damaged by water, but another problem I was having was keeping the old one attached to the aquarium. The warmth of the water seemed to make the duct tape lose it's ability to hold on to the glass. Any tips on that?

If you're going to laminate it, I would think that normal printing paper (or something like that) would be just fine. Maybe you could use adhesive to attach some velcro pieces onto the corners (and then the tank).

If you laminate it just put a few drops of baby oil on the background smear it around evenly and press against the glass. Work the air bubbles out with a credit card. The oil will make the background vibrant against the glass. Tape the corners or edges to help hold but the baby oil will make the plastic of the laminate adhere a bit to the glass. You can buy a commercially available product called SeaView but the baby oil works just as well. Glycerine also works very well

I just painted the back of my tanks black. Makes white sand plants and wood just stand out!

Use the poster strips by 3m. They will hold it in place.

Hi. I just received a background I ordered off eBay. I really like it, but I thought it was a stick on that you peel a plastic backing off and attach it to the tank. It's not! How do I put it on the back of my tank so it will hold but not look tacky with cheap tape? Thanks in advance. I've been trying to peel that roll of background for 45 minutes..lol

Okay! I took a few moments to read the posts above. I used argon oil, cuz it was what I had, ran the credit card across and just a couple pieces of tape in the corners. It came out great!

Do you have any pictures with the black background? I'm contemplating painting my corner tank either black or blue.
