Habitat - Indoor :: Three turtles,

Turtle tank setups and other indoor configurations.

Post Posted: Thu Jun 04, 2015 5:37 pm   Three turtles,

Hey Guys,

I am new here and i have three RES with me. I have a smaller tank now. Two of the turtles get along pretty well but the third one which is a female i presume (Since it is bigger) does not get along well. Do i need to separate that from the other two turtles.

Secondly Please suggest me a filter for a 35 gallon tank. I live in India and Boyu filters are not easy to get. I prefer the external Filter. Please suggest me which filter would be best to use.

Hi, how big are they all now? Any aggression that involves the turtles when they're larger should require separation.

I'm not sure what filter brands are available in India, you might want to take a trip to your local aquarium store and see what they have.

The bigger one is close to 4 inches, Im planning a separate setup for it, the other two are 3 and 2 inches and they Jell up pretty well but it might be aggressive when they grow i presume.
SUNSUN is pretty common here. Local Aquarium has sunsun but its cheaper to buy online. Boyu is also available in few places.

If you can suggest what kind of External filter i can buy, Also if you can give the specs of the filter i can look for it here.

3" and 2" are fine, but you won't know how well they get along either until they get a little larger. I think SunSun is generally considered a knock-off brand but they are decent enough for some people. I'm not familiar with Boyu, but Rena (API), Fluval (Hagen) and Eheim are probably the better brands available in the US -- especially the last 2 which are considered higher-end.

What's the time table for this? Personally, I would wait to confirm all their genders, would should not be long. Will you be able to get a larger habitat for them?
