Didn't you have a 10G tank you used for him before? Just take all the equipment and hook it up to the 10G for now. He's still a hatchling and will be fine in the 10G for temporary housing.

I don't have the ten gallon anymore because it's housing a hamster. I might be able to move the hamster into a bin cage while Nemo is in the tank but I'd have to make the change tonight.

I was going to start draining the tank at 7AM tomorrow morning, which is when I'd move fish, décor, plants, etc out into their own five gallon buckets. Hopefully the tank will be drained by 8:30 which is when I planned on being able to move everything out tank wise. Tank, stand, hamsters tanks'. Hopefully I'd be done taking everything out (with my friends help, moms help, maybe dads help) by 9AM. Then we would tape off the windows, ceiling, and put plastic down on the floors and be done with that by 9:30. Then we start painting, which I'm hoping will be done by noon or by 1PM. But, you never know. And I'm not sure about how long the paint will take to dry, and that's worrying me the most.

If I do need to move one of the hamsters out and put Nemo in it, I would probably start doing that now or in a few hours after I finish clearing my room out of big furniture.

If its only a day or two I couldn't go crazy, a 5 gallon bucket of water from your tank should be fine.

Use a large cardboard box or a large plastic storage container. Add a little basking lamp in the middle of off to the side. I keep my turtles out of water for hours at a time. Sometimes 6 hours when they are outside, sometimes 10 hours overnight in my closet. Make sure the water temp is just right before they all go back in.

Hey guys! We painted today! Nemo got moved last night into the ten gallon, one of the hamsters got put in a bin cage. This morning, We started at 7 draining the tank and getting fish out. The tank stayed (drained and empty) in the room until we finished one and a half walls and decided we needed to finally move it out. My dad said the paint is Latex Based, and that it won't hurt my tank at all. All walls are dry and I'm currently in the process of moving everyone back into the 55 gallon. Nemo has been sleeping all day and barely responsive but I think it's just because he was nervous about his new tank. Currently I'm waiting for the water in the tank to drop a few degrees, it's at 84.6 and still rising and the fish were in 77.4-81.2 degree water all day. All the tank décor was washed because it had some very bad algae growth, and the tank sand was 'vacuumed' while we drained it. I'm excited to get everyone back in, my room is so bare except for a 55 gallon tank! Haha animals first!

Nemo has been in the new tank for a few hours now, and he's sleeping. He did swim around a lot and explore, and eat! So I'm thinking he'll be just fine.

Of course! . Tomorrow morning I will do that! Either tomorrow morning or Monday morning, whenever the water is crystal clear again! And when around the tank isn't a complete mess.

I was thinking about adding some 'grass' in there for future guppy babies and ghost shrimp babies. Would that work around the fake tall plant? Or on the driftwood maybe?

Woke up to a pretty scary thing this morning (n my opinion). I maintain water temperature at a steady 79.4-83.2. It flunctuations from morning starting out at 79.4, then around noon its at around 81.2, and then it gets the hottest around 6-7PM. It has never dropped below 79. This morning, both thermometers read 74.5. I turned up one of the heaters, turned on both his lights, and now I'm waiting for the temperature to go up. I'm still trying to figure out what caused that much of a temperature drop in such little time (Less than 6 hours).

Should I invest in a new heater? New thermometers?


Oh, also. My Water Wisteria has grown to be about a foot tall now, and I want to trim it and replant it. I read that you can just trim off a part and replant it?

As for water temps, a slow drop to 75 is fine, but I would probably get a heater anyway (they're not too expensive).

I'm going to see what they have on amazon as far as a new heater goes.
