Does your turtle have a mate? If she's single, her eggs won't be fertile, so no need to keep them.

I don't know anything about maintaining eggs, but if they were under water for any length of time, they won't be any good. I don't remember the approx. amount of time.

i think i read somewhere, if they arn't the way up they were when laid then the lil turtle inside will die as well :(

It said something about putting a "+" on the top, so you can always tell which way they were... I guess they dnt have to be turned like bird eggs?

it may have even been on this website somewhere that I read it.

You shouldn't turn the eggs, some people do mark them. Look here for some good info: http://www.chelonia.org/Articles/Emerge ... niques.htm Good luck.

If you turned the eggs when you took them out of the tank, chances are the embryos died since turtle eggs should not be turned.

To incubate the eggs, the temperature should be at about 84 degrees and humidity at about 80%. You should put the eggs on moistened vermiculite or moss (slightly covered) inside a plastic container with the lid on to maintain the humidity. Make sure the lid has holes to allow air circulation.

Check the eggs each day to be sure the moss is kept moist. It can take about 50 days for the eggs to begin hatching. The eggs will hatch at different times so it's important not to disturb any unhatched eggs.

During the incubation period, if the eggs start to collapse, it means they will not hatch and should be discarded.

Just remember that any hatched eggs will result in those cute little turtles that need a proper environment in order to survive. :)

When you set up the nesting area for your turtle, make sure it is larger than the turtle (recommended size is 3 to 4X larger) and about 2X deeper. It should have slightly moist sand or potting soil. It should also be easily accessible just like the basking area.

Do a search here and you can find pictures of some nesting areas other members have made. It can give you some ideas.

congratulations! can't wait to see the hatchlings. I'm just wondering though, are there any symptons indicating that a female RES is going to lay egg soon? I have a single female and I'm just wondering when to expect....Thanks.
