My 6 month old RES likes to hide under the filter . . . I wasnt sure if this was a bad thing or not . . .it's up high enough so that she can fit under it no problem i was just curious if this was common. I think she might just like the bubbles or something, we have a lot of plants in there she likes to hide under sometimes but she chooses the filter 80 percent of the time . . . just checking

Doesn't sound unusual. They do like spots where they can hide and feel safe. I created a large cave in my tank for my turtle to hide in when she wants to. She loves it.

A plastic crate. I cut out one side and put a heavy slate sidewalk stone on top to hold it down under the water. There are pictures of it in my turtle gallery. Link is in my signature.

If your turtle is small enough, I've seen some people use a PVC elbow for a cave.

Here's my turt by the PVC pipe. I don't know how much they hide in it, but they love swimming through it.

i thought it was around 12 inches or so it is pretty big my biggest turtle is about 2 and a half inches not very big :roll:
