Looks like my turts will have to be separated during feeding now. I noticed the other day that Rocks gave Pandora a pretty good bite on her front 'paw' while feeding. She bit her hard enough that she held that leg in for a good 5 minutes after. Same thing happened today except she didn't let go as quick this time. I've been bitten by both of them and it hurt so I can't imagine how it'd hurt on a little turtle hand

I just hope it stops there. I don't want to have to setup yet another tank in my already crowded apartment..

That's sad... they've been together a while now. I hope it's just a feeding problem and that you don't have to permanently separate them.

I know people say that turts are solitary and I know it's true to some degree but I really think they'd miss eachother if they had to be permanently separated. I remember when Rocks got out of the tank. She was missing all afternoon and Pandora was just swimming back and forth frantically almost like she was looking for her. She'd go up and check the dock, do a couple laps around the tank and check the dock again.

It's probably just a feeding issue. If you're still feeding them in the tank, you might just make a temporary partition to use while you feed them. Feeding on opposite sides of the tank never worked well for me since one is usually much faster at eating.

I don't even feed on opposite ends. It's impossible because wherever I'm standing is where they go. I always have to point out their food because they're too busy watching me and flippin out. I figure I'll just take Rocks out and put her in a dishpan or something because the other sometimes refuses food out of the tank.
