Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

Hi everyone!

Hope you're well. I have a turtle that is 4 years old and the last two times I have taken it out of its tank (to clean the water, for example) she is paralyzed, with all its legs and head out. She stays frozen. Even if I touch her legs she doesn't move. She only does it on those occasions although she hasn't done it until now. The rest of the time she looks fine. Is it a strategy to protect herself? Has it happened to anyone?

Thank you!

How long is she out for? She might just be chilling. Mine would sometimes stay still for a few minutes, then roam around or hide.

Maybe 1 minute or something more. I left alone just in case she was afraid when I caught her with my hands and when I came back she was ok. As I said, she only did it when I catch her.

Doesn't seem unusual. My RES would usually hold still for a minute after I take them out of the tank.
