Plants for turtle topper

Hey, I was just wondering if anyone had experience with land plants and their RES. I was specifically looking at the inch plant or “wandering jew” plant. The roots would have access to the turtle’s water and I’ll be using fishing line to keep it in place. Should I be concerned about my turtle eating the roots? I mean are they toxic? Ive done the same thing with pothos before and i know the leaves and stems are toxic in great quantities but the roots tasting like crap on them deterred my turtle enough that he didn’t want much to do with the surface of the plant since he can see the roots coming from it. Please advise.

They are toxic to some pets, not completely sure about turtles. If your turtles will have access to it, then you can assume that your turtle will try to eat and/or destroy it.
