Hey.
my name is Tatyana I am an owner of 2 RES.
Both have white patches. I first thought it was shell rot, but then brought them to the vet. The vet said,"your turtle is building up mineral deposit".
I am still not quite sure though.
Is there any way I can test if its mineral deposit?
I have all the requirements:
external filter
heat, uva, and uvb light,
heater set to 78 degress (F)
and a basking rock.

I believe mineral deposits can be removed with vinegar.... does your house have hard water? White spots are more likely fungus though... can you get a prescription for silver sulfadiazine cream from the vet?
