red wood

hi i have a red-eared slider. i built pond had a has a red wood water wheel that keeps tge water moving. i know the wood lets out a dye. will the water hurt her? i did not know the redwood let out a dye when i put it up.

How long has it been up? How much water is in the pond?

the water wheel has been up fir a few montgs now and the pond goes from 4ins deep to about 2ft deep and is 5ft longx3ft wide

It's probably not a big deal but also not ideal. Anything else in the pond?

no nothing in it. just a few plants around it

How about adding some minnows to see if they can tolerate the water. Is the turtle in there now?

no she is in a tank inside. ill try the minnows. thank you
