General Care Discussion :: Sleep walking?

Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

Post Posted: Thu Jan 18, 2018 12:18 am   Sleep walking?

Hi, I have this baby RES and he's(Kiko) sleeping. Whenever I put him in a dry area he starts walking/running while sleeping and stops and just continues sleeping. He's eating well and very well active (he swims a lot) and poops too. I just want to know if that's normal the sleep walking/running thing or if anyone experienced this kind of thing with their turtles.

His sister (Kiki) passed away this morning. I checked her and she's not responding - no sign of breathing also.

Thank you alot!

It's normal for them to be a bit skittish when out of water. Since he's a hatchling, you should be hands-off as much as possible. Make sure the tank setup, diet, and temperatures are correct and let him adjust.

Oh ok thanks. Can you check also if his eyes are swollen. See the attached picture. I don’t know if his eyes are normal or swollen.

Thank you again!

I think a little. Eyelids are thin and pretty sensitive overall.

How is it otherwise (eating, swimming, basking)?
