My turtle is a female?

So I have a turtle and I've had it for about 7 years when I got it, it wasn't a hatchling but its eyes were closed with something??? But that's not what I'm concerned about since that was 7 years ago and it no longer has that. What's really concerning is that if my turtle is a female or male I'm concerned because male turtles stay small and have long claws/nails? And my turtle has short nails but it's a small size and it's healthy but what gender is it and if it's a female why is it so small

Any pictures of the turtle? Could be a female... not all RES grow to their largest potential.

you can also email it to me and i'll post it on the site for you. redearslider@gmail.com
Photobucket won't let anyone embed images without paying an exorbitant fee.

How about before you hit submit , go to full editor , click upload attachment. Browse for your photo and resize under edit to about 640x360 then click add to file and submit. Just come off your computer directly. No third party to deal with.
