My RES is 9 years old, but I have only had her for a week. I got her On kijiji and her old owner was a horrible owner. Her basking area was so small Agate couldn't get On it, so she was never out of water... Now that I have her, and she is basking all of the time, her scutes seem to be coming off... Not in small layers, but full scutes, revealing a darker shell underneath... Is this normal? It doesn't look infected, and the new shell is now soft at all...

Great that she's shedding. Since these are thicker, you will need to closely check to make sure there are no issues. If no future scutes are retained, she will shed thinner scutes.
