Is it a bad idea to introduce snails from our local marsh into my sliders tank? Do I risk parasites?

I wouldn't. Sliders will eat snails (ask me how I know). Your pet slider really should not be eating any wild caught animals for risk of parasites or diseases... not really worth it. If you want to feed it live food, you can buy crickets worms and feeder fish at your pet store.

Snails are a natural food source for turtles and they will eat them. Wild snails are risky source of parasites too. For live food your better off with self raised guppies, pond/ramshorn snails, or worms.
