Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

So, I've been feeding my (approximately) 10-month-old RES a lot less. I think we were over feeding him. Oddly enough, he looks like he has had a growth spurt. I've been trying to hold out on a vet visit until the fall. I noticed that he has two tiny white speckles on his shell.

Is this something to worry about? Should I take him to a vet now? Is it normal? Thanks in advance

Looks more like an air pocket, which means it'll eventually shed. Pretty normal and a good sign.
