General Care Discussion :: Gravid female always in winter!!

Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

My turtle is gravid again, she's climbing up the walls, acting crazy so Im pretty sure she has eggs, The previous years she has them in early spring so i can wait a month while the weather warms up. Now of course she has them in early December so its just going be colder. any ideas on what to do? I read all the other forums but most people say take them outside. which I cant, I tried last year with a nesting box but all she did for 8 hours was try to climb out. I have an above tank basking area, but to put dirt in that would be a mess I think with her carrying it back into the water constantly because she up down up down all day. Im just not sure what to do with her, she's freaking out all day.
How long is it safely to let her keep her eggs inside?

would oxytocin work? anyone had experience in that? The closest Herp vet is over an hour away, so Im pretty much out of luck.
Im actually a boy, Never changed SN's from my ex.
Since I ended up with the Turtle.

Try to feel for them first so you are sure. I had a similar issue with my female RES a long time ago. Had an oddly warm December day (70 F) but she was not interested in making a nest in or outside. Eventually she expelled them in the tank.
