I posted this in another section but thought this would be a better place. I have a rescue red eared slider. As far as I know she has never been in water more than a few inches. I am setting up a 180 gallon tank for her. I put her on the resting platform I made that is shallow to see what she would do. She pushed herself off it and sunk like a stone and freeked. She then half swam to the other end, got herself upright with her butt in the sand and her head pointing to the surface. Her arms and legs were going like mad but she couldn't pull herself to the surface. She wasn't stuck in the sand She was really scared. I took her out but I really want to get her into the big tank but now I am afraid she will drown. Any suggestions or do I have the only slider that can't swim.
