General Care Discussion :: Possible Alternative to Zoo Med floating dock?

Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

So I've always used a Zoo Med Floating Dock for Brixie, and it has worked fine for her, she's almost always on it when it's not night time.

The problem is that the suction cups lose the ability to stick to the glass WAAY too quick, and the dock always floats closer to the filter due to water movement.

I can't post any pictures right now, but the set up has the left side of the 55 gallon tank the area with the filter and overhead plastic hood with the right side having a metal grate with the heat lamp and UVB bulb resting on it, also prevents Brixie from climbing out.

Unless I have to, I'd like to avoid stacking bricks or anything like that on the aquarium floor to make a stationary basking area because that will shrink the swimming area. Is there any kind of hang-on floating basking area ideas that I could just use with my Zoo Med dock that anyone has done before? I'll talk to my dad about it and probably get something made, but wanted to ask you guys first.

Find one of Devilduck's posts, and follow the instructions in his signature. I think it would help with your dilemma.

Awesome found it. Thanks! I'll probably get a new egg crate for the top grate too.
