General Care Discussion :: Does your turtle do this.

Yesterday my newborn cousin came home. My aunt had a lamp on all night and I bet the turtles couldn't sleep. Anyway this morning a while after I turned on the basking light, one turtle was getting on the basking rock, only to jump into the water and repeating this process a couple of times over. I am wondering if this is normal and if your turtles do this.

One of my turtles will do this especially when there is a lot of activity in the room their tank is in.

I've seen Koopa do this only when there's something going on near his tank or activity nearby. I've always felt that it was their way of saying that they want to bask, but are just uncomfortable/nervous with what's going on around them outside their tank at the time.
