how old is he or she if he is approx 5 inches long. and is there any way to tell if it is a boy or girl( i only have this one to compare it to.)

Shell length 5 inches without the curve? If the front claws are REALLY long and spiky and the tail is larger and broad at the base with the cloaca nearer to the tip of the tail than the shell, you have a male.

i think male but it is hard to tell sience i only have the one to compare it to

try typing male female red ear slider, into google for both text and pictures, you will find lots of good pics:)

also try sexing, red ear sliders and you come up with even more:)
