General Care Discussion :: swimming backwards...

Does anyone elses turtles like to swim backwards? Our smallest one, Dana (which I think will be a girl), swims backwards all the time. Sometimes she'll get going so fast she just swims in circles all the way to the bottom of the tank. Our other turtle, Mercedes, doesn't do it. It is actually pretty funny to watch. I was just curious to see if anyone else's did the same.

I haven't caught Veronica swimming backwards but I have seen her try and swim between things (filter pumps, dock bars) that she can't possibly swim through. I try and tell her that she's too big but she just continues until she wears out and goes on to doing something else, haha.

My female does it all the time.. she swims until her tush is up on the air and nearly out of the water. I've tried to catch her on video because it's absolutely hysterical.
