I'm just curious, What part of a red-ear slider's body absorbs the 'UVB' light for vitamin d3?

I believe the entire body should be able to absorb UVB rays.

Generally, all parts of the body. Just a theory but I believe the carapace and plastron absorb the most vitamin d3 and the calcium supplements such as cuttlebone is absorbed internally.

Yeah but how does that explain a turtle's head elongated and their legs kicked back?

Ah, the infamous 'Superman pose'. They extend their legs and head to absorb more heat. Cute isn't it?
