General Care Discussion :: Stunted Growth?

Taking care of your turtle's overall health.

Hello!
Brand new to the site!
I just rescued a 5 year old red-eared slider turtle, we were told his growth has been stunted. He is roughly about 3 inches (shell from head to back... not to sure how to measure them) We were told he lived the first 5 years of his life in a small bowl with no proper lighting, now hes in a nice big 50 gallon tank with proper lighting and filtration!

Will he ever get any bigger? or will he stay this size?

Thank you in advance!

Welcome to the site! He is a bit small, but he should still grow a bit. Just don't over feed him and I think he'll be fine.
