Urgent Care :: help my friends res has a weird shell

SFK, I just got one of those yesterday do you use another bulb with it for heat?? Mine doesn't seem to keep the basking area warm enough on its own. Maybe I read it wrong that it was suppose to do both?

Yeah, I use a separate heat source for basking, the UV coil fluorescent bulb doesn't provide much heat like marisa said, I use a ceramic heater that kinda looks like a mushroom with a flat top, it screws into the light socket.

perhaps and just maybe? you could print out some of the stickys here on this site especially the ones on housing,feeding etc. take it to her house and act as if you are trying to upgrade to bigger and better things for your turt and you would like her to look over the stuff with you, and help you decide what is best, then if she takes the bait tell her it would be fun if she would go to the pet store with you to shop and compare prices and buy some plants that way she can get involved with your standards not knowing she is being educated. who knows she might even buy a few good things herself after reading the stickys with you?
