I'm happy to report he's doing great! No more bubbles or "coughing". At first I didn't think the shot helped, but after about 3 days he was totally normal again :D

Good to hear. It usually requires a series of shots over several days tho. Is he going back for more?

The vet didn't say anything about going back. I'll call this morning and ask.
