Hey everyone,
My female Red eared slider is a real big gal, we rescued her about 5 years ago and she's been very healthy in her 500g outdoor pond. But now she seems lethargic and her eyes are watery.
The winter has been rough this year in AZ, and we had to take her in a few times due to her pond dropping in the low fifties. She's spent a lot of time in the house and eating out of a large tank, but much of that time she's been indoors and under a basking area that she could move about. Finally, the 2 500w heaters in her pond have brought the temp up in the middle sixties, and she has returned to her pond. However, she is not eating and her eyes are watery, she keeps blinking. Is she dehydrated? She's also lethargic, which is not uncommon this time of year, but more lethargic than usual.
Is there anything I can do to improve her watery eyes and increased blinking?
She is refusing to eat.
She is basking right now in the sun in her 500g pond.
Thanks in advance, Deb
