Hi guys, im new here and new to turtle care, but i made sure i researched before i decided to get one. Anyways, heres the problem, for about a period of one month, my turtle (red eared slider) was doing fine, always begs for food everyday. I feed him only once in the morning. Last night, i saw him freely swimming as normal. However, this morning, when it was time to feed him, he wasnt as energetic as usual. On day-to-day basis, he would rush to the edge of glass cus he would know its feeding time, however this morning, it seemed like he couldnt be bothered about eating at all. I find his swimming slightly odd, at around 3 pm i checked on him again, he was swimming okay. One more thing to note was, i saw two long but small pellets on the ground, like it was uneaten, i turkey blastered it away. I did give him larger pellets yesterday, as i wanted to see if he could consume it, he did cus i saw him ate it, not sure if that was it on the ground or just large poops. One more thing, it seemed like he wanted to eat this morning, but when i gave him one pellet, he cant seem to "catch" it or get it in his mouth? his bite was all over the place, which makes me assume that his swimming is not stable??

I wanted to see him eat, so i decided to give him one mini shrimp to see if he wants to eat at all, he managed to catch it, however after consuming it, he kinda "puked" some debris out, which i never seen before and freaked the hell out of me. Help me guys, i just want to know if im overfeeding the lil guy, and just need to take a break from feeding him. Ever since this morning, i havent given him anything. He seems alright and swimming well tho. Thanks for your help!

He might just be in a mood, I would keep a very close eye on these changes and for other new symptoms. How much do you feed him?

It’s quantity we need to look at here. So you can feed everyday but a small amount.
