'There's nothing that works faster than silver sulfadiazine, if it works on this type of strain. Applying is easy... dry dock, apply a very small amount, wipe up after dry dock, return to tank.'

What exactly is dry docking?

Silver sulfadiazine which was first discovered in Britain who still today is the largest manufacture of silver sulfadiazine cream and patches has proven more in speedy recoveries from wounds and infection treatments and is utilized on human and animals alike. But please note that it does not cover all bacterial diseases and only some. It does expedite healing of wounds for sure.

(After a long chat with the mean ladies at the pharmacy, who giggled their head off after I told them about the turtles)

My mom insisted on betadine
This is how the conversation went;

'Mom, betadine isn't effective!'
I said
'It is, it's anti fungal!'
She said

In the end, we had to buy betadine and some other anti fungal thing, according to them, I couldn't get the sulfadiazine without a medical prescription and if I went to the doctor and he asked 'whose it for?' I would obviously say 'my turtles'.

So back to my main question, any other medicine that DOESNT require a medical prescription?

Anyone know how to convince moms that 'non-adults' can actually be correct?
hello there

There are fish aquarium medications that might help... Acriflavin or MaxOxy but I have not tried those and you should search for other's experiences with it.

Betadine is great overall but shell fungus gets under the scutes and is difficult to treat.

Some specialized medical supply stores sell over the counter silver sulfadiazine without a prescription in lower mg's. It is commonly utilized for humans. I would call around the specialized stores in your area and or just pop into them. Higher mg's in silver sulfadiazine are indeed a doctors prescription. But if this is your choice, a turtle, snake or lizard would require a less sensitive mg than a human of course anyhow. Frankly with them giggling about it is a bit offensive if I was the one who would of called for one of my turtles and me being direct when I feel the need to be, I would of stated "Would you of liked someone to giggle about your child being sick or needing something? When they say No, I would of replied, Well the turtle sort of speak is sort of my child". Sometimes people will open their eyes when what they feel is harmless gesture from them yet do but do not see the seriousness of a matter . That is just me as I am straight forward myself normally.
