I just got home and found this in the bottom of my turtle tank. It is just two turtles inside the tank and I did not find anything it could have fallen off of so I think one of the turtles pooped it out. It is hard and slippery and does not smell like anything.

Could it have been a egg? Do you have any pictures?

Girls kept alone can still lay unfertilized eggs (like chickens). It does look like a malformed egg to me.

It is a egg, unfortunately some will drop eggs in the water unfertilized as mentioned and she may be going to drop more. Even when a nesting area is provided, sometimes they will still let them go into the water and others will use the nesting area. I would double check the sexes but yes females can do that without a male present.
