Recently since changing filters, my turtles try to escape excessively as they never have before. So much that I had to put a cover on their aquarium. Now I notice all kinds of little shell flakes floating at the bottom. Both of their shells have almost a yellowish hue and are flaky...with some scattered white spots. I've never noticed this before. Should I be worried?

The white spots on top is a bit of fungus, though both turtles need a good shed.

There's another thing that could be causing the issue. I am just trying to deduce. Not too long ago, I dropped their bulb. I think it makes a slight rattling noise now as a regular bulb does when it's blown. However, I tried it and it still works. It's possible that the bulb is not functioning properly and maybe that is why they are trying to escape and having shell issues suddenly.

It would be good to replace it but it's likely unrelated.
