No.. Neither of them have been outside since I've gotten them.. Should I? I bought cod liver oil last night and had him out of the tank for awhile. He did open his eyes when out of the water but they were still super swollen

Do you think maybe I need a bigger tank? Would that be why he is sick

Swollen usually boils down to: 1) Vitamin A deficiency 2) Injury 3) Water Issue 4) Faulty UVB 5) ?

What kind of bulbs are you using for the basking area?

A 75w I took him out of the tank and put him in a separate bowl and he actuall opens his eyes

Have you tried dry docking for a day or two?

That's what I'm doing now. He had them open all day yesterday but today they are closed again

Anything particular about the basking bulb? Were they open when dry docked?

He had them open for a while after I put the cod liver oil but it didn't last long I've still been putting the oil but they are shut and even more swollen then before... He hasn't been eating at all either. The basking bulb is the same one I've been using

What brand/kind is it? If the oil doesn't work right away, it's not a vitamin deficiency.

I was referring to the basking light. How did you apply the oil?

I cut the capsule open and apply it to the closed eye.
Taco had a trip to the vet this morning and it turns out it is vitimin a deficency!
