Hey everyone. My female res is starting to have a little trouble. I give her a few carrot shreds or green leaf lettuce and she eats it. Everything seems fine but after about 6-7 hours she throws them up solid. Nothing else is strange. She can handle pellets and chicken (cooked), but its just the lettuce and carrots. Does she maybe have an allergy to them? or her stomach cant handle it?

I'm not sure but I would stop feeding her the things she throws up. I'm just saying! Never had that problem myself. Maybe someone else can chime in. How old is it.?

ive only had her about two months i believe shes still young maybe 2-3 years at first she didnt do this and then just recently she threw up carrots and so i stopped for a while and then tried lettuce and the same thing happened. I haven't tried since. I was trying to get her on a regiment of veggies one day and pellets the next (the other girl fed her pellets every day) I'm trying to break that cycle

How much are you giving her? Is she eating too fast? My RES sometimes do that. Maybe just offer a tiny bit.

You can feed her daily, but in smaller amounts. If people are sneaking pellets to her, sort it out in a pill box so they know she shouldn't get more.

Pellets vary in size, but we go by "how much would fit in the head if it were hollow." Since she is no longer a hatchling, the most per day would be about 1/2 that amount (or a little less). Veggies is a bit tricky to measure, there is no set guideline. Giving too much could cause vomiting and diarrhea. My RES get roughly 2/3 of a full leaf of red leaf lettuce.
