My res has been basking a lot for the last couple days. He is also acting very lethargic in general. I fed him a few pellets of reptomin around 4pm est last night. I turned off his light around 8pm. When i woke up this morning my girlfriend had noticed there was some pellets over by his submerged rock which he likes to sleep on. It looks like he threw up what I fed him last night. Before this he was eating normally.I plan on changing his water altogether today. I have looked on several different sights and forums any help would be greatly appreciated.

Feed him less, and bump up the water temperatures. From the symptoms, I would have him seen by a herp vet ASAP.

I know this sounds like a silly question, but did you see the turtle eat everything (or at least put the pellets in its mouth) the first time around? If not, perhaps it just didn't see some of the pellets and left them floating around overnight.

Yes I generally hand feed him the first couple then put nine or ten more pellets in his tank. I generally watch him eat it all of it. He seems to be doing better today. I fed him three pellets last night. Cleaned out his tank and bumped up the temps. I also plan on getting a new bulb because it is over 6 months old. He also ate out of my hand yesterday which he didn't do the other day and he aggressively went after the pellets i gave him. Im going to watch him today and if he is still acting pretty lethargic I am calling the vet first thing in the morning. Thank you all for the responses i appreciate it he had me scared there for a bit.

I would cut back on the pellets and try to incorperate vegetables into the diet. I hope your not feeding that many pellets everyday.

I do plan on cutting back on pellets and bought some kale last night. I was given this turtle about 2 years ago from a friend and thats what she fed him and I just kept feeding him that way. Ok, I am also taking him to the vet tomorrow just to be safe I dont think he has ever been anyways.
