Help! Neil ate a piece of paper towel last night. I was cleaning out his tank and wiping down the sides when he reached up and took a bite out of it. I tried to take it out of the water as quick as I could but he ate it. It seemed to get stuck in his mouth for a few minutes. He kept trying to get it out with his hand. We tried to get him to open up his mouth but he wouldn't. He stopped trying to get it out after a while so I think he swallowed it. He didnt seem to be choking or anything like that. We fed him a tiny bit of grape last night to try to get him to swallow like normal. He ate it no problem. He ate dandelion greens and a bit of squash today. He has an appetite, has been basking, and he isn't acting strange but I'm worried he might get impacted. The piece of paper towel was pretty small but I'm still very scared. I stayed up all night watching him to make sure he was ok. He pooped right after it happened but hasn't yet today so I'm nervous.
Background: Neil is 4 years old and just barely reaches 4 inches because his previous owner didn't have any of the proper lighting or diet for him. He's hardy but he's been through a lot and I am just very scared that this could kill him. I've without a doubt learned my lesson and will be taking him out of his tank any time I put anything that isn't food into his water.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
