Not a RES but I recently bought a hatching common stinkpot musk turtle, nice and healthy. I've had it for about a month, everything was going perfectly fine. One day I came home from school to find the little bugger flipped on its back. I don't know how long he was like that but I can guess a while. I flipped back over and put him in his water. He then started throwing up. He then just lounged around. Ever since, he hasn't been eating much and has just been lounging around. Today I came home and he was just floating in the water. I decided to take him outside for some natural UV(I heard this helps sick turtles). I'm going to lower the water and clean out the tank everyday until it's better. This isn't my first turtle. I've raised a hatchling painted turtle about 7 years ago, but never had a problem. I also have 2 snakes(Thamnophis marcianus, Lampropeltis getula nigrita) and a gecko (Eublepharis macularius).

Anyways, anything else I can do?? Thank you for any help!

Not to be rude but maybe you should stick to snakes as you don't really know how to take care of turtles. Shame on you!

Sorry? Really people need to understand how to take care of a pet before they buy it. I'm not sorry I'm disgusted! That turtle didn't have enough water to upright itself. That's the problem! People don't do research before they get new pets.

It didn't fall over in the water, it was on the dock. He has 4 inches of water. I did my research, any one with a brain knows to do research before hand.

It's a baby, they need to be started out in lower water, and then gradually raised as they get older. To an older turtle, yes it is in fact a joke but to a musk turtle the size of a penny, no it is not.

Musks stay in the shallower parts of water, as they are not good swimmers, as adults, you may find them past 2 foot of water but not very common.

Well first of all, Musks and MUDs are bottom walkers/feeders. They don't really swim around unless they need to. they spend majority of their time, walking along shallow floors. Your species are swimmers and baskers. Totally different ways of living.

Your turtle still died because you didn't take care of it. I'm done talking with you.
