My turtle, Storm, is a rescue Turtle. She's in a 45 gallon tank with a filter for a 145 gallon tank, and a heater. The filter works more than half the time, only once in awhile stopping, at that point it's fixed within a few days. A few days ago she escaped her tank. We found her stuck behind the couch after being lost for about 24 hours. I cleaned her up, she didn't have any broken bones, no injuries (as she continued to hiss at me, and try to claw me like usual. :) ) only a small sliver of a cut on her cheek which seems to be healing well.

But these last few days after she was "rescued" again she's been very... lethargic almost. She hasn't been eating (or if she is it's very little) and she doesn't want to move out of her heat lamp (which is out of the water.) Once in awhile she will swim again, but then tries to escape again....

It could be she's molting, at which point she gets grumpy and likes to lounge around, or she could have injured herself and I wasn't sure (I checked her again tonight and still didn't find anything), or she's depressed....

But then I did some more research; awhile ago I'd posted here wondering if she had shell rot but it appeared that she hadn't. Now I've noticed that with each molt she appears to be getting lighter and lighter. The shell isn't soft, but it's a lighter colour. I'm not sure what to do, or think at this point....

If anyone has any ideas I'm all ears. Thank you so much,
Sarah

How big is your turtle? About 9"
How long have you had it? A little over a year.

What is the water temperature? It's warm, a little warmer than room temperature.
Did you use a thermometer? I should, but not at the moment.
Are you using a water heater? I believe so.
How much water is in there? About a foot-2 feet.
Are you using a water conditioner? No
Are you using any filtration? Yes, Fluval for 145 gallons.

What is the basking temperature? I'm not sure... it's a 100 watt.
Is there a basking light? Yes, I use a red heat-lamp and have the UVB light on also.
Is there a basking platform that is easy to climb on? Yes, I made it out of egg carton and some kind of piping following directions from this website.
Is there a UVB light? Yes but is only on once in awhile. I'm going to be having it on every day from now on though.

What have you been trying to feed it? It's a gormet food pellet. It usually has cranberries and shrimp as well, but I had to change as the food was discontinued. So she's been eating pellets for now, until I figure out a better diet.
When was the last time your turtle ate? I believe last night, if a little. If not last night a day or so ago (i had a little extra food floating around I left for her to eat tonight.)

How big is the tank/pond/enclosure? 45 gal
Is the tank near a window? Somewhat, it's across the room from one.
Is the tank in a room with a lot of activity? Usually, but lately it's been less active as we're working away from home during the days now.

Have you read the Basic Care section? In the past I believe I have. I'll read it again though.
Have you searched the forums for similar situations? Not yet

The shell has fungus. A prescription of silver sulfadiazine is usually the most effective treatment. Bump up the water temperature to around 81-82F and see if that increases her appetite.
