Is there any other unusual activity/symptoms? eating habit has slowed but i notice that every year in the winter.
Last night when I went to feed Turtle, he wasn't very interested. That didn't surprise me too much, he doesn't eat as much in the winter. Usually eats every other day or so. But I saw on his neck, along his yellow coloration, there were like bumps or something. I decided that was weird and I'd try to take a better look.
Well he is a large and stubborn turtle. I took him out of the water and he hid in his shell. I washed him off in warm water hoping he would come out a bit (he doesn't like being touched out of the water). He wouldnt stretch his neck so I'm not sure if I did see anything. However, I looked around the rest of him and his behind has the same bumps I thought I saw on his neck.
I took out his old dry tank and put some towels in it and put him in it to dry out for the night. This morning, he still has the same issue of the bumps on this behind and I"m assuming along his neck. He didnt' cooperate very much with taking pictures. i'll try to take another when I get home.
He has gotten too big for his basking dock. I've been looking for something to replace it but everything seems just small. I'm considering trying to make one myself but I have zero tools or handyman ability. So he kinda sinks the dock and doesn't drive out fully on his lower half.
I smelled him and didn't notice any odors. I felt along his shell and under carriage and there were no soft spots. His belly is scratched from climbing i suppose.
The bumps on his neck aren't an ear abscess. He had one of those before (that is now gone) and it isn't like that that. The bumps only seem to appear on his white/yellow color lines.
Any ideas? I'm planning dry docking him for a few days to see if that helps. Also ordered something else I"m hoping serves as a better basking dock for the time being.
Thanks
