The other day, my roommate said he saw my turtle throw up, and then eat what she'd thrown up really quickly. I've seen her picking at left-over scraps, spitting out a bunch of them, and then eating them again before, so I wasn't super worried––she's been swimming and eating normally. That was a few days ago.

Today, though, she's basking without much movement and won't eat. I'm pretty concerned about her. I have an appointment for her tomorrow, but is there anything else I can do for her before then? I'm checking the temperature and everything.

I should say that this is after I was on a trip and, coming back, her water was in really terrible condition. I'm afraid that she might've contracted a respiratory infection or that she's sick from the poor water quality. I've changed the water and cleaned the filter, but her water's still slightly cloudy and smells a little strange––I think the bacterial cycle got thrown out of whack.

Please give me some advice as quickly as possible!

I would recommend raising the temps of your basking area and water by a few degrees.it helps them fight infection and sickness.
Do his eyes look cloudy or clear? Is he gasping blowing bubbles or mucus discharge when he breathes or is he wheezing ,coughing ? Is he floating even in the water or is he lopsided, sometimes that will keep them out of the water for extended periods.
Has she had a recent bowel movement and if not what substrate are you using , gravel or small items can cause impactation.
There is a topic of general questions that are required for anyone to give an opinion
