Now when I got him I noticed a little reddish brown on his plastron, now it looks more red and seems to have gotten larger... is this shell rot? I'm terrified, idk where I would take him, no herp vets around. :(

I dry docked him for a few hours last night, because if his toe, and my fear of shell rot, and his shell looks kinda powdery on top... I'm freaking out!

I don't think it's shell rot. What kind of substrate are you using?

I have large river rocks at the bottom of his tank, is that what you mean?

Yes. How has it's growth been? How much water is in the tank?

He's at 2 inches now, looking really dark in comparison to 2 weeks ago...I can see a few scutes upturned, but none have come off. He's got about 5-8 gallons right now, but he's going to be moving to a larger tank soon. He wasn't docking, but I got his water temp to 80 and hid his area from sight and he basks regularly now. it seems his bridge has gotten wider, but his plastron is still the same size... and still had that slightly brown spotting, with a little bit of green on the bridge, I think its algea.

From other YBS pics I've seen, this looks fairly normal. Any other symptoms?
