Hi all,
So, about 2 weeks ago I was out of town for the weekend and got some bad news when I came home. One of my RES had somehow climbed out of the tank and took a fall onto the floor, where he spent almost 2 hours stuck on his back. My Dad then found him and put him in the water. Sine then his behavior has been troubling to say the least. He's been spending almost all the time since than on the basking platform with his eyes closed. I know he isn't sleeping all the time because he is responsive to touch and can sense your hand moving in and reacts to it, although never opening his eyes in the process. For the first few days this was all he would do. I began holding him and lowering him into the water for a few minutes a couple of times a day, where he would open his eyes and swim, appearing to be totally normal except slightly weak. Now, almost 3 weeks later he seems to be stuck in a routine where he will spend all day and night on the platform and get into the water for only short periods of time a few times a day.
I'm very worried that the time he was stuck bottom up has left him with brain damage or some sort of internal organ issues. I have no idea what to do. Any advice or anything would be much appreciated. Thanks.
