this is the sixth day one of my turtle refuses to eat
I have 2 turtles which are about 6 years old in a 40 gallon tank, I'm aware it's small for the 2 of them but I am presently looking to buy a new huge one.
they are about 6-7 inches long

I use proper lighting, proper filtration and they easily climb on something, however, the past few days have been really hot and I don't have a water cooler (I'm not even sure it exists)

2 days ago I happened to look at the ill one and I saw her vomit what seemed to be pellets. but she had not eaten for 4 days, as I usually feed them every 2 days.

She still comes out of the water to dry herself off, and still swims like nothing is wrong, but when I try to feed her she just swims away in the bottom corner

I Mostly feed them nutrafin pellets and occasionally salad. She always ate everything I've ever given her in a second so I don't understand. The other turtle seems to be in perfect health and eats normally.

Any thoughts as to what I should do ?
Thanks

She hasn't ate the salad? Did you try live food yet?

What's the water temperature? Are they both confirmed females?

water temperature is around 78-80 since I put a fan on it it's less hot..

I'm pretty sure they are both females as they both don't have long claws

when I put food next to the turtle she kind of just opens her mouth as if like there was something stuck in it and swims away... how many days can she survive without eating it's been 9 days I don't want her to die :(

Are they kept together? I would consider separating them until this is sorted out. It's possible she might have something stuck, but it would be a good idea to have a vet check her out at this point.

I separated them since I had another small aquarium, she's still not eating, she just looks at the food and doesn't even try, she still swims okay and gets out of the water to dry off. There is no vet around here that can take care of turtles ...
I fear I'm just gonna find her dead one morning..

Have you tried live treats or food?

I tried live food and mini shrimps and she's still not eating
she just looks at the feeders not even trying to chase after them
almost been 3 weeks now
how long can she survive without food ??

I've heard of people whose turtles who've gone a couple months without eating, but I would really take her to the vet at this point.

Well thanks for the help guys, just a quick update.. after trying 3-4 brands of food and all the treats I could think of, she still wouldn't eat. She did not eat for approximately 6 months. She was getting very thin and was just basking all day long doing nothing else. Then a few months ago she seemed like she was trying to eat, I had to force feed her with my hands or I don't think she would have survived. I tried separating them for a month it did not change anything. Now there is a brand of pellet (Reptomin) she won't eat at all (she hisses if I give it to her). I have no idea what happened to her but she seems more than fine now !
