Urgent Care :: Female slider carrying eggs - what to do

Hello all -

My female slider is carrying a few eggs, she's had the eggs for about a month or two now.

What do i need to supply her with to make her lay these eggs and actually let them hatch?

A friend of mine was telling me put her in a 10 gallon tank half way filled with moist dirt for about 5 hours a day until i see some eggs, do you think this will work?

Also, when she does lay eggs, how do i tell the front and back of the eggs? how should it be in the dirt? how much degrees should the eggs need?

Since we don't go into much RES incubation and hatching, there are links on that page that you might be interested in.

A 10 gallon is likely too small and many of us have unsuccessfully had them use it. Outdoor nesting areas work better if you have that option.
