Posted: Sun Mar 03, 2013 6:41 pm Baby turtles haven't eaten in 5 or 6 days, PLEASE HELP
I answered your questions and they are below..
I've had the turtles for quite some time now.. One has a white spot on its back (I got it like that.. it might be a scrape on it's shell, not sure) and the other doesn't have one..I have two babies and they have weird eating habits.. The first night I had them, the one with a white spot on its back ate but the other wouldn't... they were in a tiny make-shift plastic tank they came in... then we went to the pet store and bought them a tank, day basking light, night basking light, uvb light, and filter... and got them 2 big rocks.. one big enough to stick out of the water in the tank.. and the other that's under neath the water cause they like going under water.
After a day or so they were BOTH finally eating... they ate for 3-4 days straight, they loved eating.. and they would beg for food, but I know I can't feed them too much so i made sure they ate once a day.
Now all of a sudden NONE of them will eat and I'm confused.. I got them turtle sticks as well as little shrimp treats (dried up).. they wont eat either.. and it's been almost a week now.. they swim and bask and look great... nothing physically wrong with them.. they just wont eat.
Should I worry?
I've attached some pictures so you guys can get an Idea of what I'm working with.. I'm on a very low budget so I just got the basics... But if there is anything else you guys think i need or recommend please let me know and I will set money aside for it.
I'm EXTREMELY new to all of this... so any info or tips would be greatly appreciated.

How big is your turtle? I have two babies and they are both 1inch
How long have you had it? I just got them the saturday after valentines day (Feb. 16th).. on the side of the road some guy was selling these baby red ears and my dad got them for me as a valentines gift.
What is the water temperature? 75 degrees right now but it fluctuates from the 70's into the 80's.
Did you use a thermometer? I have an aquarium thermometer in the tank.
Are you using a water heater? No..
How much water is in there? I have a 10 gal but it is filled a little over half way
Are you using a water conditioner? No
Are you using any filtration? Yes, one.. and it's not that great of a filter since I have to clean it every week (since I feed the turtles in the tank, they refuse to eat out of tank)
What is the basking temperature? 80-90 degrees
Is there a basking light? yes and they have a nice big rock for them
Is there a basking platform that is easy to climb on? yes.
What kind is it or what is it made out of? it's a huge rock we found outside (and of course we cleaned really good) it sticks about 2 inches out of water for them.
Is there a UVB light? yes.
What have you been trying to feed it? I have fed them turtle sticks and just recently got these dried up shrimp treats for them.
When was the last time your turtle ate? 5 or 6 days ago..
How big is the tank/pond/enclosure? 10 gal tank.
Is the tank near a window? no it isn't, does it need to be?
Is the tank in a room with a lot of activity? Not really, it's in my room and I don't do much other than go on my computer.
Have you read the Basic Care section? No, but I have done quite the research on how to care for them.
Have you searched the forums for similar situations? yes.
Is there any other unusual activity/symptoms? no, they look healthy and beautiful and love to swim/bask.
