Hi guys,

Sadly, my nearly 10 year old RES passed away after having been sick for a few weeks. I live in an apartment in the city and would like to give him a proper burial at my mom's home in the suburbs, where he might have a more peaceful rest. However because of distance, I likely can't get there for another 2-3 weeks. Is there a safe way to preserve him until then? I'd prefer not to keep him in my freezer/fridge with my food but might have access to a refrigerator that is specifically not for food. Has anyone ever had any experience with this? My only other option is to give him a "viking burial," but I'd rather have a grave for him.

Thanks

Sorry for your loss. If he's not frozen, he would deteriorate quickly.

Put him in a zip lock bag and a box and you should be fine storing him in your freezer.
