Hi.
My RES isn't moving
I'm going to call it a He because it's easier than it.
I need help

He's 1.5-2 inches in length
I've had him since May 2012

He was in his tank until about 10 minutes ago, it is a 10 gallon(because he is small and this is my temporary residence, when I move out in a couple months he will be getting a much larger tank)
The water was treated properly and has 2 filters meant for 10 gallon tanks, there are 3-4 gallons of water in the tank
I went on vacation for a few days and left the feeding and light up to my grandmother. She did everything right
But the heater broke while I was away
I did not notice this until today because I usually judge the temperature by how much the fish are moving, and they're swimming around just fine so I left it for a couple days without checking the temperature
I went to the tank and he was upside down on the bottom of the tank, moving just a little bit, I reached in to turn him over and noticed the water was freezing. It's between 50 and 60 degrees.
I put him in a small 1 gallon tank(I usually use for any sick or injured fish) and slowly filled it with water, it was about 85 degrees, but now it's at 80.
I'm going to leave him in there over night, there's not much I can do at 10 pm
It's a perfectly clean tank with treated water, I put an inch of water and a plastic lid that he is seated on that is about 2-3 millimeters under water.
When I picked him up he went completely limp, his head was extended. I touched his back feet lightly and he pulled them in. As I added the warm water he moved a lot but then stopped completely and went limp again. I left him on the counter of my bathroom while I went to get the lid. When I got back, he was in the same place, standing up with his head high and mouth open and he made a really weird screatchy noise and went completely limp again.
I have a few baby fish in the tank with him and 2 food pellets. He hasn't moved at all.

Also, I've been using vinyl food-and-medical gloves to handle him for this time, is that safe for him? They're not powdered but I just want to make sure...

I don't get fresh fish in the house, the only fish he eats are the babies in his tank. Would he possibly go for a mouthful of canned white albacore tuna? If so, should I put a chunk in his temporary tank or try to feed him with a syringe?

He hasn't been eating for a few days, he's been taking the pellets from the top of his water and putting them on his basking rock then leaving them without eating any.

Is this all something to do with the temperature? or something else?
oh and on his basking rock it is about 85 degrees with the light on, but other than to drop off the pellets, he hasn't gone up there at all.

Sorry if some of this doesn't make sense.

Here is some info for a drowned turtle: http://www.redearslider.com/major_illne ... uries.html

I would also keep him warm and dry docked tonight. The gloves should be OK.

he's too small to do the arm step with and i have no way of getting to a vet for a few days because of where i live and school.
when i put him head down mouth open, no water came out.
he hasn't moved and no longer responds to being touched my anything on his feet or head. his head and legs fall and move with gravity.
i think he's dead :/
