So a few months ago, i moved my red eared sliders into the office where i work. Seemed a good idea at the time, but this week they have drove me completely mental! :| constantly knocking against the tank, trying to get in a particular corner, re-arranging the rocks and wood thats in their tank and just generally being very disruptive and restless. I don't know what's gotten into them. If anyone would like to take a guess at their sex or age that would be helpful too.

Any advice?

How big is your turtle? i have 2, one is about 5 inches, 1 is 4 inches. I rescued them off someone who didn't want them anymore so no idea how old they are
How long have you had it? about 16 months

What is the water temperature? unsure, water is warm but by no means hot
Did you use a thermometer? no
Are you using a water heater? yes
How much water is in there? half the tank is full
Are you using a water conditioner? yes
Are you using any filtration? yes

What is the basking temperature?
Is there a basking light? yes
Is there a basking platform that is easy to climb on? yes
What kind is it or what is it made out of? bark wood i think.
Is there a UVB light? not as yet no

What have you been trying to feed it? just the normal turtle food
When was the last time your turtle ate? this morning

How big is the tank/pond/enclosure? 4ft long
Is the tank near a window? yes but the window isn't open
Is the tank in a room with a lot of activity? not really

Have you read the Basic Care section? yes
Have you searched the forums for similar situations? yes

Is there any other unusual activity/symptoms? as above

Keep a bare tank if you can, and make sure the basking area is stable and can support them. Are you sure you have a basking light? That one looks like a fluorescent light. Is there any fighting going on? The white could be fungus,it's hard to tell from the picture.

No i have a small UV lamp that's too small for the tank and can see the difference, this one is just a normal light as it was previously used for fish.

If you can provide pictures of the tails, we might be able to help ID their sex.
