I'm really sad. I'm not sure what happened. He was eating fine yesterday and he was playing with a ping pong ball and hes very shy and runs off the basking dock when he sees people so i'm not sure if he was basking or not. About a week ago i noticed he was at the bottom of the tank, with his eyes closed and thought it was weird that he would sleep during the day, i knocked on the glass and woke him up. I thought maybe because the UVB light went out and it took me about a day and a half to replace it, that his sleeping times might be off.
This morning he was under his favorite rock, I put my hands above him and he didn't come to me like he usually does. I picked up the rock and he didn't move. Finally, I picked him up, eyes closed, limbs and head completely limp. I guess he died sometime last night or this morning. Anyone have any idea what could have happened??? I did notice that the other turtle was growing so much faster than him and when I got her (Destiny) she was smaller than him. I was making sure that they were both getting enough food because of this.
We bought Nighthawk at a baseball game and he was not in the best condition, but I thought with proper care, nutrition and lighting he would be ok.
Any thoughts?
